Best Stand of the Year: XL Video accepted the award for The Best Stand at The ABTT Theatre Show 2010. The judges were impressed by the quality, definition and versatility of the display that clearly presented XL's messages to the visitors. Nominees in this category included: The Theatres Trust for introducing hydrogen fuel cells to The ABTT Theatre Show; d&b audiotechnic for uber-chic stand; Hayles and Howe; and Northern Light for the stand that received the most visitors after the show had officially closed!

Technician of the Year: David Droud. Chief Electrician at The Palladium, was awarded the Best Technician Award by Julian Rees from The Really Useful Group. Recognised for his committed approach and strong work ethic, his reputation goes before him since 1999 when he joined the company. Though not necessarily common knowledge, Zaolla Silverline offers a unique service whereby artists on the company’s endorsee roster can choose to have their rigs custom wired with the company’s Artist 500 Series cables. The process, which consists of five parts: (1) system cable measurements, (2) cables built to length and specification, (3) system re-wire with new cables, (4) final system adjustments/terminations, and (5) play test, ensures the equipment in question is professionally interconnected—enabling both the artist and the equipment to perform at full throttle without the slightest hiccup.

Monster described his first Zaolla Silverline encounter and how his relationship with the company came about. “I first met Jonathan Pusey (Zaolla Silverline’s Director of Sales and Marketing) and had an opportunity to try the Zaolla Silverline cables at last year’s Bass Player Live mini-tradeshow in Los Angeles,” Monster recalls. “The moment I auditioned the cable, I fell in love with it. Had I tried to do this myself, I would have spent a small fortune on tools; only to drive myself crazy trying to get it all done—and even then, the actual system wouldn’t be anywhere as clean and professionally assembled as it is now.”

When queried about those qualities of Zaolla Silverline cables that prompted him to wire his entire pedal board with it, Monster offered the following, “Zaolla Silverline cables are the cables that all other cables wish they could be. Manufactured from state-of-the-art materials, the new microphone clips are all but impossible to break and, as a result, deliver years of service.

The new Hosa MHR-422 and MHR-425 microphone clips are offered in 22 mm and 25 mm diameters respectively. These two sizes will readily accept the overwhelming majority of microphones currently available. The MHR-422 is designed for use with dynamic mics while the MHR-425 is designed for wireless mics. They are threaded for US compliance and will fit atop most any microphone stand sold in the United States. Additionally, a European (EU) adapter is included. Both models are RoHS compliant.

Both microphone clips are manufactured from a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). This cutting-edge material is a physical mix of rubber and plastic and yields the benefits of each. These new microphone clips offer a more “grippy” feel than traditional clips. This attribute makes them easier to handle and they will not scratch the surface of one’s expensive microphones. The new DA15, like other Da-Cappo headset microphone systems, features a hypoallergenic ear cushion that is designed for long wearing-comfort. This cushion conceals a flexible, sprung-steel mechanism that may easily be adjusted to fit ears of all sizes. Further, the DA15 features the same adjustable microphone boom—enabling one to adjust the microphone to find that “perfect fit.”

Da-Cappo’s new DA15 Cardioid Earset Microphone with Earbud Monitor arrives as a comprehensive package. The system includes a 4-foot carbon Kevlar microphone cable (compact screw to same), a 4-foot carbon Kevlar earbud cable (compact screw to 3.5 mm TRS), a single-cable clip for affixing the microphone and earbud monitor cables to one’s clothing, and a low-density pop filter—all of which is stored in the included leatherette case.

Buena Park, CA – August 2009… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and audio/video professional, is pleased to announce the addition of two new LED gooseneck console lamps to its Hosa-Lite lineup: the 15-inch LTE-503XLR4 and the 18-inch LTE519XLR4. With the addition of these two 4-pin XLR male-equipped models, the Hosa-Lite product line now encompasses 15- and 18-inch gooseneck lamps with BNC, XLR3M, and XLR4M connectors designed to fit most mixing consoles.

Like the entire range of Hosa-Lite LED console lamps, the new LTE-503XLR4 and LTE519XLR4 deliver warm, diffused light that is bright enough to work by—without causing eyestrain. These lamps feature four white LEDs and two red LEDs for accurate color illumination. The Hosa-Lite lamps are highly efficient—more so, for example, than incandescent bulbs—providing more light while requiring less energy. As an LED lighting solution, the Hosa-Lite operates at cool temperatures—facilitating adjustment without burning one’s fingers. Further, these models comply with all international lighting and energy regulations.
