Buena Park, CA – June 2010 … Based in Southern California, Jugulur is a 5-piece groove metal band consisting of Justus and Judge on lead vocals, Preacher (guitars and vocals), Monster (bass, vocals, and noises), and Beast behind the drums. Metal for the Masses best summarizes the band’s focus and Monster, whose musical contribution carries tons of attitude, also happens to be the band’s spokesperson. Monster recently re-wired his pedal board setup and, to ensure all was handled with the utmost expertise and the finest cable available, he took advantage of Zaolla Silverline’s custom shop and had much to say after-the-fact.

Though not necessarily common knowledge, Zaolla Silverline offers a unique service whereby artists on the company’s endorsee roster can choose to have their rigs custom wired with the company’s Artist 500 Series cables. The process, which consists of five parts: (1) system cable measurements, (2) cables built to length and specification, (3) system re-wire with new cables, (4) final system adjustments/terminations, and (5) play test, ensures the equipment in question is professionally interconnected—enabling both the artist and the equipment to perform at full throttle without the slightest hiccup.

Monster described his first Zaolla Silverline encounter and how his relationship with the company came about. “I first met Jonathan Pusey (Zaolla Silverline’s Director of Sales and Marketing) and had an opportunity to try the Zaolla Silverline cables at last year’s Bass Player Live mini-tradeshow in Los Angeles,” Monster recalls. “The moment I auditioned the cable, I fell in love with it. The sound I heard was awesome. From that point on, Jonathan and I kept in touch. When Jonathan later informed me of the company’s custom shop, I couldn’t resist. I’m running three pedal boards and the thought of re-wiring the setup myself was more than I could deal with. By contrast, the Zaolla Silverline folks are pros at this sort of thing and are well equipped to handle the project. So I thought to myself, ‘Why not take advantage of the service?’”

Beyond the initial trip to company headquarters and the return trip to actually have the system interconnected, Monster reports the entire process was extremely efficient. “The measuring of all the cables took roughly 1.5 hours,” he notes, “and the actual re-wiring of the system took about 2 hours more. Had I tried to do this myself, I would have spent a small fortune on tools; only to drive myself crazy trying to get it all done—and even then, the actual system wouldn’t be anywhere as clean and professionally assembled as it is now.”

When queried about those qualities of Zaolla Silverline cables that prompted him to wire his entire pedal board with it, Monster offered the following, “Zaolla Silverline cables are the cables that all other cables wish they could be. Since using them, my sound has become louder, cleaner, and more distinctive. They’re also built extremely tough. I’m not exactly the easiest going type of individual when I perform. They work really well and I haven’t had a single problem with them. I like to think of them as Monster-proof.”

“Since I began using the Zaolla Silverline cables on my pedal board rig,” Monster continued, “I’m getting more highs, more lows, and my sound has a much more distinctive character with far greater presence. For those who don’t think that cables make that much of a difference, I’m here to tell you they make a tremendous difference. Wow!”

As he prepared for the band’s next gig, Monster offered a few final comments. “The entire process went really well,” he said. “The Zaolla Silverline folks really understood what I was looking to accomplish. Since the job was completed, my noises—as I like to refer to them—have considerably greater strength. The brutality of my sound has gotten a lot sharper. I’d highly recommend this service to anyone looking to get their setups properly cabled together. These cables are truly 100% alien technology. Best of all, they can handle 100% of Monster’s brutality.”

To learn more about Monster and Jugulur, visit the band online at www.jugulur.com.

Buena Park, CA – May 2010… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and owner of the Zaolla Silverline brand, recently granted distribution rights for the company’s vast range of products to two new distribution firms in the Asia Pacific region: BGW Guitars of Singapore and Hi-End Tech of Hong Kong. The agreements are expected to dramatically increase Hosa Technology’s presence throughout Asia.

Singapore-based BGW Guitars will now represent both the Hosa Technology and Zaolla Silverline brands throughout Singapore. Specializing in guitarist- and performer-oriented brands, BGW Guitars’ focus is on high-quality, value-driven products and, as such, the company is an ideal match to represent the Hosa and Zaolla Silverline brands. With Zaolla Silverline being a provider of upscale guitar cables, the new arrangement is a particularly good fit. BGW Guitars offers both retail and wholesale service to the region. The company will expand their distribution capabilities as they incorporate Hosa’s extensive lines into their line card.

Brendon Leung, BGW Guitars’ General Manager, commented on the new distribution agreement. “Hosa Technology’s products provide a wealth of connectivity options that, I expect, will serve as an invaluable complement to our existing lines,” says Leung. “By having access to every conceivable type of cable and connector, our customers can now be assured of obtaining the best possible performance from their equipment. This translates to a win-win situation for everyone involved. We are delighted to be part of Hosa’s family of distributors.”

Hong Kong-based Hi-End Tech will now be distributing the Hosa Technology and Zaolla Silverline brands. In addition to the Hong Kong market, the company’s territories include the People’s Republic of China, Macau, and Taiwan (Republic of China). With a young, fresh approach to distribution and a mind toward technology solutions, Hi-End Tech’s highly technical staff and existing product lines are a terrific match for Hosa Technology’s brands. The fact that Hi-End Tech will handle distribution throughout both the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan in addition to Hong Kong and Macau is expected to dramatically extend Hosa Technology’s reach throughout Asia.

Wilson Choi, CEO of Hi-End Tech, is enthusiastic about his firm’s new distribution agreement with Hosa, “All of us at Hi-End Tech are very happy about our new distribution and representation agreement with Hosa Technology. There is a highly complementary synergy between Hosa’s range of products and our line card. I look forward to a long and fruitful business relationship with everyone at Hosa Technology.”

Buena Park, CA – March 2010… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician, is pleased to announce the introduction of the SNX Series Pro-Conex Stage Boxes with XLR returns. Incorporating a wealth of features designed to provide years of reliable service, the new SNX Series Pro-Conex stage boxes provide clean, transparent audio feeds to and from the house audio console and, with all terminations being XLR, are ideal for live-sound environments where long cable runs are common. The SNX Series is available in multiple configurations and lengths.

Heavy-duty construction is a hallmark of the new SNX Series Pro-Conex stage boxes. Designed to withstand the rigors of professional touring, all models employ heavy-gauge, rolled-steel chassis with a black enamel textured finish. This combination of materials minimizes the possibility of damage and keeps the units looking new longer. With high-contrast white numbers on the chassis and corresponding numbered leads, users will have no difficulty tracing connections, regardless of the lighting conditions on stage. A heavy-duty wire mesh hanger provides strain relief when supporting the cable fan.

In addition to their robust construction, the new SNX Series Pro-Conex stage boxes are built to provide superior audio quality. These stage boxes utilize genuine Neutrik® XLR connectors on all sends and returns for trouble-free connections, free from clicks, pops, or other annoying sonic artifacts. Additionally, all models employ foil-wrapped, heat shrink-protected internal wiring. Similarly, each lead/signal path is individually shielded using 24 AWG x 2 OFC (oxygen free copper) conductors—thus ensuring superior signal transmission.

Hosa Technology’s new SNX Series Pro-Conex stage boxes are available in multiple configurations and cable lengths—ranging from 8 sends/4 returns and a 25 ft cable fan to 24 sends/4 returns and a 150 ft cable fan. In all, there are fourteen models encompassing configurations with 8, 12, 16, and 24 sends and 25, 50, 100, and 150 ft cable lengths. All models employ 4 returns.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s Director of Sales and Marketing, commented on the new SNX Series Pro-Conex stage boxes. “Our new SNX Series Pro-Conex stage boxes are the Sherman tank of the performing musician and audio professional,” says Pusey. “These boxes are built to withstand the abuse typically encountered in professional touring and are available in multiple configurations and cable lengths—making them well suited for shows of many sizes. With Neutrik connectors, heavy-gauge cable, and solid construction throughout, I’m confident musicians and audio pros will find exactly what they’re looking for.”

The new Hosa SNX Series Pro-Conex Stage Boxes range in price from MSRP $340. - $1,340.

Buena Park, CA – March 2010… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician, is pleased to announce the company’s website (www.hosatech.com) has undergone an extensive renovation designed to make one’s visit easier, more informative, and more productive. The new website encompasses an entirely re-designed look that is intended to visually and emotionally impress visitors with the company’s extensive product offerings while providing the necessary information to help them make informed purchase decisions. The new website is now in-place and fully operational.

In addition to further establishing Hosa Technology as the preeminent manufacturer of cables and other connectivity solutions, the new website presents the various Hosa-distributed brands under a single banner. By incorporating the Da-Cappo Micro Microphones, CAIG Laboratories, Neutrik, and Zaolla Silverline brands all under the Hosa Technology banner, the new website reinforces the company’s recent expansion into distribution and easily—and all in one place—enables the site visitor to discover the many different types of products available through Hosa Technology.

The new Hosa website makes locating a dealer or distributor quick and painless. A dealer locator based on U.S. Postal ZIP Codes makes it easy for the customer to find a reseller convenient to their physical location. With simple drop down menus for ZIP Code, distance in miles, and the desired brand, locating an authorized dealer is both intuitive and fast. Each dealer’s listing also references the brands they stock and support. International distributors are identified by territory.

Hosa’s new website makes it particularly easy for customers to secure the product they want. If, for some reason, the customer is unable to identify a local authorized dealer or obtain a product via a local dealer, he or she may now order it via Hosa’s new website. In partnership with Shopatron, the leader in retail integrated e-commerce and order management and the site’s developer, Hosa Technology is now able to partner with the company’s dealer network to offer fulfillment services throughout the nation at the location nearest the customer. The new website complies with all current security and privacy best practices for e-commerce sites.

Particularly noteworthy is the website’s new cable selector feature. With a few simple clicks of one’s mouse, the customer is able to specify the desired cable type, connector type, and length and be presented with a filtered selection from within Hosa’s product range. This new feature provides valuable assistance to both new and experienced users and helps them locate precisely the product they are searching for.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s Director of Sales and Marketing, commented on the company’s new website. “The new Hosa Technology website is more than just a new look, it represents a dramatic overhaul and genuinely reflects the fact that Hosa is about much more than just cables and adaptors,” said Pusey. “Over the years, Hosa has come to encompass a wide assortment of connectivity solutions, product maintenance items, accessories, microphones, and many other offerings.

Buena Park, CA – February 2010 … Zaolla Silverline, the leading innovator of cable technologies for the musical instrument and pro audio industries, is proud to introduce The Artist 500 guitar cable. In The Artist 500, Zaolla Silverline combines the legendary performance of the company's unique silver-core cable with a new plug—a silver-core version of the legendary Show Saver™ by G&H Industries. The result is a cable in which sonic transparency combines with durability to deliver a superior sounding, positively rugged cable for today’s guitarist. The Artist 500 is ideal for professional studio musicians, serious home recordists, live performers, and anyone seeking superior performance from their guitar and amplifier.

The Artist 500, like all Zaolla Silverline designs, is designed around a solid-silver center conductor. Silver, the most conductive element on earth, is 7% less resistant than copper. This substantial improvement in conductivity is manifest in every aspect of signal transmission. All else being equal, the bandwidth of a silver conductor is greater than that of a copper conductor. Thus, a silver conductor yields greater HF and LF transmission and overall signal clarity.

While it is true that silver is superior to copper as a conductor of electricity, this is not to say that silver is superior to copper in every application. Low-level analog audio signals benefit from the MF boost and "warmth" associated with copper. Thus, The Artist 500 guitar cable features a solid-silver center conductor and an enamel-coated, stranded-copper ancillary conductor in a unique hybrid configuration for the best of both worlds.

A guitar cable is only as good as its signal-to-noise ratio. Zaolla Silverline surrounds the unique hybrid conductor at the core of The Artist 500 with redundant shielding. Conductive PVC combines with a traditional copper braid to provide maximum EMI, RFI, and electrostatic rejection without the added stiffness of a second copper braid. Similarly, foamed polyethylene separates the conductor from the shield without adding stiffness.

Zaolla Silverline focuses on design as much as on materials. The unique features of The Artist 500 coexist in true coaxial cable geometry. This accounts for the unique flexibility of The Artist 500 among boutique guitar cables, many of which are secretly microphone cables terminated for use with a guitar. The Artist 500 is as much at home on the stage as it is in the studio.

The new plugs found on The Artist 500 guitar cable combine the robust design of G&H Industries’ Show Saver™ plug with the added benefit of a silver core. The straight plug has the same structure as G&H Industries’ ultra-high clarity plugs while the right-angle plug is based upon the traditional Show Saver structure. The copper core in each has been replaced with 99.99% pure silver to increase conductivity and improve sonic responsiveness. These new plugs are the only ones on the market with solid-silver tip connections. Due its low capacitance, low resistance, and high conductivity, it is the best sounding plug available and is the ideal complement to Zaolla Silverline’s cable.

Jonathan Pusey, National Marketing Manager of Zaolla Silverline, commented on The Artist 500 guitar cable, “The Artist 500 is our latest achievement in our on-going effort to build the ultimate guitar cable,” says Pusey. “The new G&H Industries silver-core plugs deliver the cable’s superior sonic performance while also adding to its overall durability. It’s the next-best thing to hardwiring one’s guitar directly to the amplifier. Gone are the days of the instrument cable as a disposable accessory. The Artist 500 is a component that must be played to be believed.”

The Artist 500 is manufactured in lengths ranging from 3 to 30 feet, with 6- and 12-inch pedal patch cables also available. US pricing ranges from $55 to $262—depending upon the cable’s length and the types of plugs (straight/right angle). The Artist 500 guitar cable is available now.

Robust, reliable clips provide years of service

Buena Park, CA – October 2009… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and audio/video professional, is pleased to announce the availability of two new microphone clips—the models MHR-422 and MHR-425. Manufactured from state-of-the-art materials, the new microphone clips are all but impossible to break and, as a result, deliver years of service.

The new Hosa MHR-422 and MHR-425 microphone clips are offered in 22 mm and 25 mm diameters respectively. These two sizes will readily accept the overwhelming majority of microphones currently available. The MHR-422 is designed for use with dynamic mics while the MHR-425 is designed for wireless mics. They are threaded for US compliance and will fit atop most any microphone stand sold in the United States. Additionally, a European (EU) adapter is included. Both models are RoHS compliant.

Both microphone clips are manufactured from a thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). This cutting-edge material is a physical mix of rubber and plastic and yields the benefits of each. These new microphone clips offer a more “grippy” feel than traditional clips. This attribute makes them easier to handle and they will not scratch the surface of one’s expensive microphones. Thanks to their 90 Shore A hardness, these new clips are more durable and longer lasting than plastic models. The microphone clips are all but impossible to break if the microphone stand is dropped or experiences rough handling during transport.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s National Marketing Manager, commented on the new Hosa MHR-422 and MHR-425 microphone clips. “Microphone clips are the Rodney Dangerfield of professional audio equipment,” says Pusey. “They get no respect until such time as they fail—then suddenly the performer has a big problem. Even gaffer tape can’t resolve the inconvenience of a faulty microphone clip.

Buena Park, CA – October 2009… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and audio/video professional, and distributor of Da-Cappo Micro Microphones throughout the Americas, is pleased to announce the introduction of the Da-Cappo DA15 Cardioid Earset Microphone with Earbud Monitor. By combining a discreet earset microphone with an in-ear monitor, the new Da-Cappo DA15 provides unparalleled comfort and unprecedented freedom of movement for onstage performers and production staff alike.

The capsule found in the new DA15 incorporates a sensitivity rating of -51 dB and a maximum SPL rating of 130 dB—making it well-suited for vocal performers who routinely find themselves in loud performance surroundings. This high-performance, back-electret condenser microphone provides excellent off-axis rejection by using a front-facing capsule engineered to be positioned at the corner of the performer’s mouth. As the microphone’s cardioid polar pattern offers maximum rejection at the rear of the capsule, the new DA15 provides superior isolation from surrounding noise.

Integrated into the DA15’s ear cushion is the earbud monitor. This high-quality, dual-driver earbud offers a full-range frequency response of 20 Hz – 20 kHz with a sensitivity rating of 102 dB—making this monitor capable of handling high in-ear levels. With the earbud monitor’s ability to function equally well for both performance monitoring and IFB (interruptible feedback), the new DA15 is equally at home on the music stage or in the TV newsroom. The earbud is truly discreet and lightweight—making the DA15 an ideal microphone/in-ear monitoring system that can be worn comfortably for hours.

The new DA15, like other Da-Cappo headset microphone systems, features a hypoallergenic ear cushion that is designed for long wearing-comfort. This cushion conceals a flexible, sprung-steel mechanism that may easily be adjusted to fit ears of all sizes. Further, the DA15 features the same adjustable microphone boom—enabling one to adjust the microphone to find that “perfect fit.”

Da-Cappo’s new DA15 Cardioid Earset Microphone with Earbud Monitor arrives as a comprehensive package. The system includes a 4-foot carbon Kevlar microphone cable (compact screw to same), a 4-foot carbon Kevlar earbud cable (compact screw to 3.5 mm TRS), a single-cable clip for affixing the microphone and earbud monitor cables to one’s clothing, and a low-density pop filter—all of which is stored in the included leatherette case.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s National Marketing Manager, commented on the new DA15 Cardioid Earset Microphone with Earbud Monitor. “The new DA15 shares the performance attributes of Da-Cappo’s highly acclaimed DA12 Cardioid Earset Microphone and incorporates the added benefit of in-ear monitoring into a unified, easy to use, comfortable, and highly adjustable system. The DA15 forms a unified microphone/monitoring system that is equally at home for both stage performers and TV newspersons. I’m confident this new product offering will be well received by a wide range of prospective customers.”

The new Da-Cappo DA15 Cardioid Earset Microphone with Earbud Monitor is currently available in either black or beige. MSRP for the kit is $652.00.
