Da-Cappo

A:

Omni

  • In all circumstances we recommend the low sensitivity -45dB

  • The high sensitivity -35dB models are simply too hot for most wireless transmitters however they do have a use if using the XLR adapter or using a Stick mic for ambient or instrument capture

  • Ideal for both spoken word, broadcast or musical performance although the caveat here is the monitoring environment. If monitoring is in higher SPL ranges feedback may become an issue if the sound engineer is inexperienced. Note that if using in-ear monitoring these are definitely the way to go!

  • For rental situations the Omni mic will hold up better over time as they are truly water-resistant (read: waterproof) so they can't be sweat out or harmed by environmental factors relating to humidity &/or rain

  • The have a very even frequency response regardless of position to the mouth

Cardioid

  • Recommended for high SPL monitoring environments

  • The proximity effect (bass response) is extreme with any element of this miniature size - so placement is key

  • The added benefit to our silicon rubber ear piece means in most circumstances it doesn't require any further material/assistance (like using surgical tape) once the earpiece and boom are adjusted to the head of the performer/presenter

  • Is recommended over and above the Omni for IFB/Production Comms (DA15 series) as the lack of bass, and the non-accumulation thereof, means clarity and transparency across many headsets remains intact

In short - no!

Due to the multiple options of excellent wireless transmitter/receiver systems available on the market it is not possible to offer a truly comprehensive selection without increasing the retail price unneccessarily. As a result wireless and direct-to-console adapters are available a la carte as an accessory add-on purchase.
