Hosa Introduces 2nd Gen Elite Series Microphone Cables

Hosa Introduces 2nd Gen Elite Series Microphone Cables

Nylon webbing over PVC jackets and Neutrik® connectors deliver first-rate performance

Buena Park, CA – April 2012… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician, is pleased to introduce a significant upgrade of the company’s popular Elite Series microphone cables. Now available with Neutrik XX-Series connectors plus a new nylon webbing over the cable’s PVC jacket, the Elite Series takes advantage of the latest technological advances and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes to deliver performance attributes that are every bit on par-if not superior to-more costly boutique cables.

Available in both Lo-Z (XLR3F to XLR3M) and Hi-Z (XLR3F to ¼ inch TS) configurations, the cable used in the Hosa Elite Series is a vitally important contributor to overall audio performance. These cables use 20 AWG Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) conductors that reduce resistance in order to facilitate maximum signal transfer. Polyethylene dielectrics reduce capacitance for crystal-clear high-frequency transmission while conductive PVC reduces handling noise. Further, a 95% OFC braided shield is employed for noise-free signal transmission. Take all this and complete it with nylon webbing over the cable’s PVC jacket, which is cut- and abrasion-resistant for a lifetime of trouble-free use, and the end result is a cable audio professionals can place their trust in.

A clean, reliable connection to one’s mic preamplifier or console input is of paramount concern for any audio engineer or recording enthusiast, and the Hosa Elite Series microphone cable cuts no corners in this regard. The Neutrik XX-Series connectors employ gold-plated contacts for corrosion resistance and superior signal transfer and utilize a zinc die-cast housing for rock-solid reliability. With a polyurethane gland to prevent cable kinking for longer cable life and chuck-type strain relief for maximum cable retention combined with a sleek, ergonomic design for easy handling, these connectors deliver the ideal blend of performance and long-term reliability.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented on the second-generation Elite Series microphone cables. “These second generation Elite Series cables offer exceptional audio performance and have been field tested for maximum reliability,” said Pusey. “With a rich feature set and a highly competitive price, we are extremely optimistic that this product line will find favor with a wide range of customers. The Elite Series has always been an exceptional product and now, with the addition of Neutrik connectors and abrasion-resistant nylon webbing for a lifetime of dynamic, noise-free sound quality, I’m confident these mic cables offer the best possible combination of performance and value.”

The Hosa Elite Series microphone cables are available in lengths from 3 to 100 feet and carry MSRP pricing that ranges from $42.75 – $203.55. The Elite Series is slated to become available late Q2, 2012.

Hosa Introduces 2nd Gen Elite Series Guitar Cables

Nylon webbing over PVC jackets and Neutrik® connectors upgrade performance

Buena Park, CA – April 2012… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician, is pleased to introduce a significant upgrade of the company’s popular Elite Series guitar cables. Now available with Neutrik X-Series straight and right-angle plugs plus a new nylon webbing over the cable’s PVC jacket, the Elite Series takes advantage of the latest technological advances and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes to deliver performance attributes that are every bit on par-if not superior to-more costly boutique cables.

A clean, reliable connection to one’s signal processing and amplification chain is of paramount concern for any guitarist or bassist and the Hosa Elite Series guitar cable makes this a top priority. The Neutrik X-Series connectors employ precision machined, one-piece contacts designed to provide both signal integrity and structural rigidity. The connectors feature gold-plated contacts for corrosion resistance and superior signal transfer and utilize a zinc die-cast housing for rock-solid reliability. With a polyurethane gland to prevent cable kinking for longer cable life and chuck-type strain relief for maximum cable retention combined with a sleek, ergonomic design for easy handling, these connectors deliver the ideal blend of performance and long-term reliability.

Of course, the cable’s quality is an equally important contributor to overall audio performance and here, too, the Hosa Elite Series guitar cable excels. These cables use 20 AWG Oxygen-Free Copper (OFC) conductors that reduce resistance in order to facilitate maximum signal transfer. Polyethylene dielectrics reduce capacitance for crystal-clear high-frequency transmission while conductive PVC reduces handling noise. Further, a 95% OFC braided shield is employed for noise-free signal transmission. Take all this and complete it with nylon webbing over the cable’s PVC jacket, which is cut- and abrasion-resistant for a lifetime of trouble-free use, and the end result is a cable musicians can place their trust in.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented on the second generation Elite Series guitar cable. “We spared no expense in the development of this cable and the enhancements made to this line are significant,” said Pusey. “With a rich feature set and a highly competitive price, we are extremely proud of this product line. Goby Labs Debuts New Guitar, Boom Mic, Keyboard, & Tablet Stands

Tablet frame, mic, keyboard, and guitar stands are versatile and durable

Buena Park, CA – February 2012… Hosa Technology, the leading innovator of analog and digital connectivity solutions for the modern musician and distributor of Goby Labs instrument care and accessory products, is pleased to announce the introduction of a new product line by Goby Labs: stands for musicians. Incorporating ‘ruggedized’ metal construction designed for years of use, Goby Labs’ new product line includes two microphone stands, a keyboard stand, two guitar stands, and a Tablet Frame for iPad®-all designed to aid musicians with everyday performing and rehearsal tasks.

World-class design and superior build quality are hallmarks of the new Goby Labs stands. Designed in the U.S. after extensive interviews with musicians from a wide range of performance and studio environments, these stands feature robust metal construction and components designed and manufactured exclusively for Goby Labs stands.

Microphone and Short Microphone Stands with Boom
Featuring die-cast components, including thick-walled, zinc alloy handles and metal-on-metal threaded components, the GBM-300 Mic Stand with Boom and the GBD-300 Short Mic Stand with Boom re-define durability. The center-mass boom design features a mid-point, all-metal, locking grip for enhanced boom balance and an easy-to-turn pivot lock with integrated cord retention. The metal base incorporates a ‘stomp tube’ that enables it to be stood upon without bending the legs or breaking the stand. These stands also feature an ultra-heavy, center-locking, vertical handle for added stability and the appearance of clean lines on stage.

X-Frame Keyboard Stand
The Goby Labs GBK-300 X-Frame Keyboard Stand features high-strength geometry, including Z-shaped down tubes that form a truss shape to withstand greater vertical pressure. For added stability, the truss form ends directly under the keyboard edge-where the performer applies most of his or her weight. The GBK-300’s tube construction is 40% stronger than conventional boxed-steel designs.  Stamped bearing surfaces are spot welded to the frame and the stand is assembled with bolts and nuts rather than rivets or clamps for durability and field serviceability. The stand utilizes an easy-pull, fully locking adjustment system, has self-leveling feet for uneven floors, and cord retention for most commonly used cables.

A-Frame and Universal Guitar Stands
The Goby Labs GBA-300 A-Frame and GBU-300 Universal Guitar Stands offer the modern guitarist two durable, rock-solid means of securely holding one’s valuable instruments. The GBA-300 A-Frame stand utilizes a fully locking open- and closed-position leg engagement. With a stance that is 60 mm longer than that of most competing products-thus reducing the chance of tipping-this stand features a large diameter, 8 mm, mandrel bent steel rod frame. The Goby Labs GBU-300 Universal Guitar Stand incorporates a lock-open/spring-closed mechanism for performance and storage respectively, over-molded rubber touch surfaces that prevent abrasion and protect the instrument’s finish (compared to neoprene foam found on competing models), and full-cradle guitar retention. The head catch slides vertically to accommodate guitar necks of various lengths and full guitar-body support alleviates pull on the guitar neck. Both models fit dreadnaught acoustic through most electric guitars and feature over-molded, metal-core, rubber feet for exceptional stability.

The GBX-300 Tablet Frame for iPad
Featuring universal iPad compatibility (both 1st and 2nd generation), the GBX-300 Tablet Frame for iPad featuring ‘frame-change’ technology holds any iPad on all four sides for extra security. With its patent-pending pole lock that facilitates support on mic stands, music stands, and other tubular surfaces, the system features a counter-locking arm that engages as the clamp is tightened on a pole-forming a closed loop around the pole for added strength. This innovative design applies more force to the pole as opposed to open-sided designs. The GBX-300 Tablet Frame is a great tool for electronic sheet music, lyric support, and performance notes. Low-cost frame-change kits will be made available for new tablets so the Tablet Frame hardware will never become obsolete.

Jonathan Pusey, Hosa Technology’s Director of Sales and Marketing, commented on the new Goby Labs stands, “The moment you see these stands, it becomes clear that not only are these the most rugged, durable stands widely available, their cutting-edge design inspires confidence that one’s instrument, microphone, or iPad will be held securely. With full-metal construction and components that are manufactured specifically for these products, Goby Labs stands represent the state-of-the-art when it comes to products of this nature. I’m confident many musicians, vocalists, and others will be very impressed.”

The Goby Labs stands are expected to be available Q2 of 2012. MSRP is as follows:

GBM-300 Mic Stand with Boom $97.95
GBD-300 Short Mic Stand with Boom $79.95

Zaolla Silverline Audio Cables Top Choice for Willie Basse

Solid silver conductor and robust construction deliver accurate sound quality

Los Angeles, CA – October 2011… Ask any audio professional about a cable’s impact on sound quality and you’ll inevitably be told one’s choice of cable is not the place to save a few bucks. Such is the case for Willie Basse. Best known as the former frontman of the legendary Los Angeles based rock band Black SheepBasse is a multitalented vocalist/bassist, audio engineer and producer, artist manager, studio owner, and actor. Whether on stage or in the studio, Basse never cuts corners when it comes to his cables, and that’s precisely why he insists on using Zaolla Silverline Artist 500 guitar cables with his instrument and Zaolla Silverline microphone cables in his studio.

Break Away-released in 2010 on the New Empire Media label-is the title of Basse’s most recent single, which features Dokken/Lynch Mob guitarist George Lynch and Scorpions drummer James Kottak. As a solo artist, Basse is very particular about his sound and, for the past 3+ years, has relied on Zaolla Silverline cables. He discussed what led him to Zaolla Silverline.

“I’ve spent three quarters of my life dedicated to achieving a better sound,” Basse explained. “Over the years, I’ve conducted numerous cable and connector ‘shootouts’ and I consistently prefer the sound I hear with Zaolla Silverline. I really like the Artist 500 guitar cables. The cable’s solid silver core makes for a much better signal conductor. I first learned about solid-core silver from Doug Sax and Stephen Haselton from the old Mastering Lab in Hollywood and when I listened, I was sold. The Artist 500 is, by far, the most accurate cable available in terms of sound quality. This cable delivers a clean, clear, punchy representation of the sound. These cables enable me to hear exactly what my ears are hearing when I’m standing in the room with the instruments.”

“I’m equally impressed with the plugs on the ends of these cables,” says Basse. “Everything about the Artist 500 is top notch. The build quality, the way they wrap, and the way they lay flat on stage. I’ve had my Zaolla Silverline cables for a good 3-4 years and they simply get the job done better than any other brand I’ve tried.”

Zaolla Silverline Artist 500 guitar cables use silver-core plugs by G&H Industries. Being 99.99% pure silver to increase conductivity and improve sonic responsiveness, these plugs are the only ones on the market with solid-silver core connections-making them the ideal complement to Zaolla Silverline’s cable.

Basse is equally fond of his Zaolla Silverline microphone cables. “These mic cables are clearer than any other cable brand I’ve experienced,” Basse reports. “From the microphone to the mic preamp and on to the channel input, I use my Zaolla Silverline cables all the time. Cables are a critical element in the studio that can’t be overlooked. Zaolla Silverline is as accurate and true to the source as you can find. With these cables, I know exactly what I’m getting when it comes to the sound.”

In addition to their superior sound and build quality, Basse was equally complimentary of Zaolla Silverline’s customer / technical support services. “On my last tour I was opening for Steven Adler (drummer from Gun’s N’ Roses) and his new band, Adler’s Appetite-we had 40 shows booked. I needed more cables and wherever I tried to buy them, the stores were out. I contacted the company and not only did they build me the cables I wanted, the company express shipped them to me. The folks at Zaolla Silverline were really on top of the situation. I was able to get the cables I needed in time, so I didn’t have to stress out over the matter. They were great to deal with.”

Currently, Basse is preparing for the Willie Basse Feed America-NOW tour (www.feedamerica-now.org). This will be a campaign to fund community food banks across the nation in an effort to help those people who have encountered difficulties during our nations’ current economic downturn. The plan is to launch this effort right after Thanksgiving. “These are tough times for a lot of people,” Basse says, “One in every four children go to sleep hungry and I really want to help change this.”

Shifting his attention back to his preparation for the upcoming tour, Basse offered this closing thought, “Working with Zaolla Silverline cables has been like taking the cotton out of my ears or lifting the blanket off my head. Thanks to these cables and their excellent audio qualities, I can hear clearly and this enables me to see, or visualize, the music better in my mind. If you’re looking to improve your sound, start with your cables and take a good, hard look at and listen to Zaolla Silverline.”

Why Bad Boy Bill Only Uses Zaolla Silverline Audio Cables

All the right connections make for a formidable studio

Chicago, IL – March 2011… As an electronic DJ and music producer from the windy city with over 25 years in the business, Bad Boy Bill knows firsthand what it’s like to spend hour after hour in the studio. An owner of several record labels that release house music, Bad Boy Bill recently released The Album, a full length CD of original music. But it doesn’t stop there. This non-stop artist does what to many would seem the unthinkable: he travels the globe on weekends DJ’ing for music fans from seemingly everywhere. As of this writing, Bill was off to Europe for a gig-but he planned on being back in the studio in just a few days! With a schedule like this, there’s no time to be messing around resolving cable issues. That’s why, for his studio, there’s only one cable that Bill knows he can count on-Zaolla Silverline.

Known as Studio 956, Bad Boy Bill’s studio is outfitted with a variety of Zaolla Silverline cable products, including DB25 to XLR breakouts and balanced interconnects such as XLR, ¼  inch TRS, and  XLR to ¼ inch TRS.  There’s also an assortment of RCA to XLR cables as well as RCA to ¼ inch TS.

“I started using Zaolla Silverline cables a few years ago when I really wanted to upgrade the sound quality in my studio,” Bill reports. “I use Zaolla Silverline for every single connection in my studio, which includes DAWs, loudspeakers, a BLUE Bottle Mic, a Manley Massive Passive signal processor, as well as my Neve, Chandler, Summit, and Tube-Tech microphone preamps-and, of course, to all my vintage keyboards and gear like my Memory Moog, Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer, Studio Electronics SE-1X, etc.”

While reliability is certainly important to him, Bill is adamant about sound quality and, in this regard, he says there’s no substitute for Zaolla Silverline. “Zaolla Silverline cables are the best,” he said, “and it shows in the sound quality I achieve as well as the build quality. In terms of sound quality, what I put in is exactly what I get out-the music sounds rich and full. What more could a guy ask for? This is why there isn’t a cable in my studio that’s not Zaolla Silverline. Anytime we’re working in the analog world, my music gets created or processed flowing through the veins of my Zaolla Silverline cables.”

Bill tells us he’s never had to replace a single Zaolla Silverline cable, “I really haven’t had to deal with the cables much at all because everything works beautifully right out of the box. I haven’t had a single problem with a Zaolla Silverline cable.  To me, that shows the durability and quality the company builds into their cables.”

Before shifting his focus to the business of the day, Bill offered this parting thought, “Listen, I couldn’t ask for anything more. These days, most electronic music is being done ‘in the box,’ but if you’re going to add anything like a vocal or a guitar or an analog keyboard to your track, I feel it’s worth it to make certain you get the highest quality signal into your system as possible. You may also want to send something out from the DAW into an analog EQ or compressor for processing, and then shoot it back into your DAW; so you certainly don’t want to lose any signal quality due to poor cabling. If sound quality is important to you, the investment in high quality audio cables is mandatory. I’m very happy to be a Zaolla Silverline user/endorser and would like to thank everyone at the company for making my recordings sound the absolute best they can be.”

Bad Boy Bill’s music is available online at iTunes, Beatport, and Amazon.com. To learn more, visit him at www.badboybill.com.
